What a line of up Deubel riders we had at last weekend’s Round 5 of the Australian Gravity Enduro at Stromlo. We had:
- Matthew Harrington who came 18th in Elite Male Category
- Richard Napper who came right behind Matthew in 19th place in Elite Male Category; and
- Mathieu Taris who came 4th in Veterans Male category.
- Sebastien Deubel who came 2nd place by 1 second in Master Male Category
With our elite guys just 1 minute behind the famous winner of the day, Ben Cory, plus other stars in the mix such as ex-junior DH world champ, this year’s commonwealth XC rider and all the locals, it certainly was a competitive day filled with barrels of fun !!!
If you can pick the best tracks at Mt Stromlo to ride, that is exactly what Rocky Trail Entertainment did for the 2 track event. The first frack started at Western Wedgetail, then through Pork Barrel, Skippy's and finish at Double Dissolution. The second track started on the new DH track, then through Luge.
Everyone was raving about how much fun they had and the atmosphere was very relaxing due to the “start your race run when you like” timing. This is the style of race that Europe has been doing for decades and we can see why, and that is simply because whether you are a downhill rider or a cross country rider, Enduro riding is for everyone and guarantee’s to put a big smile on your face.
